...and now for the HAIR!
Background:
I have a complex situation for my hair - oily scalp and dry hair.
Used to have a lil bit of split ends issue, but most importantly, I've got a major hair fall issue.
Very weak scalp (I conclude myself) due to dead skin and flakes, slight dandruff problem.
I've coloured my hair countless times, permed it 3 time and did soft-rebonding once.
The hair has also enjoyed a couple of treatments mainly on the scalp, but has also gone through high frequencies of heavy styling procedures almost every week for a period of time.
Very fine, thin, troubled hair.
PRE-SHAMPOO/ DEEP CONDITIONING/ DANDRUFF CONTROL/ HOT OIL TREATMENT
Ingredients:
1. Olive oil
2. (optional) Essential oil, eg. Rosemary, Lavender
Directions
1. For hot oil treatment, heat oil for 30sec-1min in microwave (just make sure it's warm enough) before applying.
2. Spread oil/mixture through hair, concentrating on scalp, and massage.
3. Cover with shower cap or hot towel and leave on for 30min to an hour.
4. For dandruff control, leave on for longer hours.
Personal review:
Make sure you're in the bathroom when you apply - oil can be a mess, and your hands can't be cleansed off oil immediately when you need to. This aside, the scalp feels cool and refreshed after the treatment and shampooing - not entirely sure if it's the result of the treatment or the cleansing. But hair do feel good and I am seeing much lesser hair loss when I comb through, albeit I think I'm still shedding a lot during shampooing - maybe that's normal?
SHAMPOO/ HAIR WASH
Ingredients:
1. Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
2. Water (preferably lukewarm, distilled)
(ratio 1:3)
3. (Optional) Essential oil eg. rosemary, tea tree, lavender
4. (Optional) drops of olive oil
Direction:
1. Pour baking soda and all optional ingredients (other than water) into a squeeze bottle.
2. Step into shower and wet hair.
3. Add warm shower water (approx. 3 times the amt of baking soda) into squeeze bottle. Shake the bottle and make sure the baking soda is dissolved.
4. Apply evenly onto scalp and massage gently. Keep adding solution to every part of the hair especially the scalp and keep the massage going in between squeezes. Remember to shake the bottle now and then to make sure no baking soda residue sits on the bottom of the bottle and got wasted.
5. Use the help of a comb to make sure everything spread evenly on your hair. When using a comb/brush, remember start first on the ends and slowly work your way up to the roots.
6. Rinse off! Get ready to condition the hair.
